shock to the system!!

I was just thinking that as I read through the thread!!
I'm gobsmacked!!
my point was really that the poor kid has no real life skills, and sees no point in learning any, because as far as he is concerned he pays someone else to do everything for him!
so sad, and as I said before, what if his world falls apart, and he one day has to fend for himself??!
he also seems unable to make choices for himself..
I put a choice of cereal, jam, fruit etc. on the table for breakfast - he doesn't know where to start
I put out a choice of stuff for them to help themselves to for a snack at school........again, he has a problem choosing
I always ask the kids what their favourite food is, so that I can cook it at least once during their stay.......he said he has no idea what he would like, because the maid just puts food in front of him every night
his clothes in the wardrobe are sorted into 'outfits' - shame really cos usually the boys live in board shorts & t shirts!

I don't think he's a 'twit'
or a 'horrible' child
it must be a real shock for him (an only child) on several counts
there are 6 kids in the house at the moment
I expect everyone to 'muck in'
if he wants something to eat or drink outside meal times I usually say 'help yourself'
and as per language school recommendations....
I don't make beds
I will wash his clothes once a week
I will clean his room (which he has to share
) and change his sheets once a week

Just how long does it bloody well take to learn these "life skills" which seem to consists of household chores? Any muppet could do it if they had to. No previous experience required.!

and I'm not just talking household chores

His lack of decision making skills is something else though, not related to domestic chores. He ought to know what food he likes regardless of whether the maid/his mother/he himself makes it.

Specifically, we are talking about washing up! Your whole life to learn it????

Having said that he does sound like a bit of a brat
