At the moment I actually feel 75
Is this official permission to post on this thread then?
Because I would not dare post unless I was told that I could do so

Re: The Sam only thread!
My daughter is called Samantha Louise, always called her Sam from the day she was born except for when I was cross then of course she became
SAMANFFAAAAAAA.
At Uni she was called Sammy Lou by every one, they thought her parents must have been Country and Western music lovers and that she was named after a Dolly Parton song.....Thankfully not!! but I did use to sing Cliff's Goodbye Sam, Hello Samantha to her she would just walk away....kids they have no fun in them...by the way she is 32 next week

Re: The Sam only thread!
Sorry folks!
I've been decidedly absent from this thread for a few days.................have been busy enjoying the village Fiesta and sleeping lots!!
It's lovely to see so many Sams and honorary Sams on the thread
Shame there don't seem to be any Samuels around?
I asked my Mum how she and my Dad came to choose my name.
She said it wasn't related to Bewitched; they just heard it or read it somewhere, and thought "oh, that's a nice name".
Then apparently, one of my parents dropped a piece of cotton, and it landed in the shape of an S - so they decided that it was definitely meant to be my name!
I know not everyone is living in Spain, but for those that are...............how do you find Spanish people cope with pronouncing your name?
Here, people tend to call me "San" (sometimes with a slight "g" twang at the end!)
They tend to struggle with my name initially, because of course "San" is a saint (obviously suits me then!! ) and apparently it's also a surname.
Mind you, they have a lot more trouble with my O/H's name - Keith!
He gets called "Wee" or "Wicky!!" Make some sense out of that if you can!!
If I tell people it's spelt K-I-Z, they can usually pronounce it much better.
Obviously, there are plenty of Spanish names that we have trouble trying to say too!
I'd love to know how people get on with your name, Lionda!!?

Hi brisca, mine's easy, Cristina and I just love it when a Spanish person says it because it sounds really suggestive
OH is called Malcolm and we have yet to meet a Spanish person who can say his name they get to MAL and then it all falls apart When we were in Ibiza the peeps we stayed with called him Senor or Pepe I said to Mal just stick to Pepe when asked your name it will be so much easier, not as much fun though
