proud to be British?

Sorry about that."
Typical! No, I'm generally ashamed of being British, especially how they behave when abroad.

I have heard how good it was so I'm going to spend the morning on catchup. Everyone I know who saw it say they feel proud.

Not everyone enjoyed the ceremony last night, but overall I thought it was a fantastic display - this was shared by many overseas.
Martin Varsavsky (the Argentinean entrepreneur based in Madrid) had this to say on Twitter:
Above all else, the mix of different musics played last night was a large plus point for the UK. You may be tired of 60s music, dislike punk or can't get on with the modern stuff that Dizzy bloke plays (I probably fit into the last category), but British music is loved and respected worldwide. Again on Twitter, it was described as Britain's secret weapon, and I agree with that sentiment.

What the British are doing is reminding us how much of our imagination, our science , our music, we owe to them, and we do!

Essentially I am proud to be British, but don't hold with giving it away to people who tick a few boxes and receive a certificate from the mayor
even prouder to be English, even though so many are trying to deny my nationality.
we have a marvellous heritage from The Empire, some of it has gone on to perform well as nations in their own rights whilst regrettably some have become a positive disaster. Never see the like of the European Union will eclipse that heritage

Yes, I am proud to be English too
I read that the Scottish and Welsh footballers didn't sing the anthem at their olympic footie match

Nice to see flags of former colonies still proud or happy to display the Union flag as part of their own.
I don't see much sign of the same thing applying to other former colonising nations.
