& yes, the payments would almost certainly be more than private - but of course would cover pre-existing
I know people who do , in one case one pays the autonomo and six benefit , mother and four kids , doubt you would get private health care for six for 260 euros.

It also stops any problems getting into school.

yep - but they are cracking down on it though

my last gestor just took my word for it as far as my income was concerned

now I have to produce invoices, with the NIE numbers of my students - he had word that they are tightening up considerably........even going as far as to check with clients

I suspect they are clamping down with a view to collecting more money , not stopping people paying any at all , even as little as 260 euros pm autonomo to cover a healthy family is a good financial bet from the authorities point of view, the alternative is they are forced to leave Spain and then the local economy looses in this families case 25k euros p.a which would be a pretty stupid move but then we are talking about Spanish bureaucrats

Hi all, not wanting to read through 14 pages of this thread, so appologies if this question has been asked:

My residencia card has expired so I now have to get the replacement piece of paper. I work as autonomo so do I have to provide proof of income or is this requirement only for new applicants?

I think, like in most of Spain, you will find that it varies by region.

Some have said that when going from card to paper they had to 're-apply' (so checks on health cover, income etc.). Someone else I know didn't have to.

So who knows.

those are worked out from the income above which you don't get any govt. assistance (such as it is) - subsistence level

Well, the law says that your income cannot be less than 5.007,80 € per year. However, if you live with your wife/husband plus your son/daughter, the minimum should be 21.283, 15 € per year. This number is increased by 8.763, 65 € per family member.

21,000 a year for a couple........many pensioners on state pension could struggle with that.........so what are they going to do, kick you out?
