Given what they do to dogs.... my neighbour's dog lost the end of its tongue.... I would think a hen wouldn't survive.

I have searched the internet and can find nothing about chickens being effected in the main its humans,Dogs and Cats. But every little helps. I think if you e-mailed the vet on Pets in Spain website she would be able to assist.

They are the worst thing, I would imagine they could do harm to any living creature. We have also had a neighbour who's dog lost part of it's tongue through them and died a horrible death. Trees are sprayed to kill them but many obviously slip through the net and I've seen lots of nests already, they should be dropping about now and active up till around the end of April. That is my observation from last year.
