Fine, and leaving dogs tied up on balconies etc., not fine, but to denounce an owner because their dog barks at passers by on a golf course?
Bizarre.

Of course, i totally agree with you and this can be denounced. I cannot understand people who have a dog and dont play with him and dont take care of him, really, i dont know why these kind of people have a dog and this is the problem. If the dog doesnt have his own space, as you say, and doesnt play and run, the dog is going to be barking all day. But i dont think not allowing dogs can be the solution. It is the easier way but not the correct one, at least i think so. I have a dog and he is as my son so, when someone says the dogs shouldnt be allowed i cant agree with him.
I think this is the only time we disagree, isnt it?

The no dogs rule never works in Spain. I agree with marisol too sometimes the owners are the problem. I have heard of a lot of worse problems than dogs in apartments. I do agree that barking dogs are a pain, wouldn't like to have to put up with them.

There's no such thing as a bad dog - just a bad owner.
Have they not seen the Dog Whisperer?

Besides that, you can not judge all the dogs just for the bad behavior of one owner. Its him who cant live there, not the dogs and belive me, there are a lot of people who make more noise than dogs .

Hola Marisol

This would not apply to you. Rocco is lovely and well cared for and you would not dream of leaving him tied up outside or just locked outside all day, unlike the people across the road who I think are the ones in question. hope to see you and Fer soon.

I think I'm having a twilight zone moment - that word Dingo. Language not everyone understands. Been there done that got the teeshirt. Methinks!

Hi

I was reading these posts and was going to write exactly the same, We are like Marisol and Fer and love our dogs but to love them is not enough as we all agree. You have to walk, play, feed and care for them...that to a dog is love. To leave them for ages is shameful, I feel sorry for the dogs and very angry with the owners. I know the dogs John is talking about too, they can really startle you ! We also had the builders "guard" (poor frightened little pooch he was) dog by us at one time barking most of the time and left in the heat without water, my son was buying food and taking water for him and giving him a fuss and (bless them) a lovely couple who live on our Manzana just took him from the workers to walk him. We shouldn't not allow dogs though, if I was ever a permanent resident I would certainly have dogs (well cared for, trained and certainly no poops left any where) however I do have sympathy for those troubled by a constantly barking dogs.... but it's not their fault berate the lazy, selfish owners owners - Grrrr !!

Out to CE very soon - wish I could take our dogs they would love a run on the beaches there ....YES, I would have my pooper scooper with me.

Mel

Hi Mel
Dogs love playing on the beach. Roco dreams with it, he moves his legs as he were running while he is sleeping, so your dogs are going to have a very good time when you go with them to CE.
What we should do its to denounce these people instead of blaming their dogs for barking. Anyway, if you have near your home a boy who spends all the day shouting, nobody thinks about forbidding children, you just have to put up with it.
Well, writing in English is very difficult for me and maybe it may seem as if i didnt mind people who have to stand the noise and the barking, i know that it can be unbearable.
If i could speak in Spanish i would be able to say what i really think about it, but im sure that my opinion wouldnt be very different to yours, i know how nice you are and how much you love dogs
un abrazo,
marisol
