Is any of this in the Spanish forum? I don't remember seeing it. If it's not, are your comments relevant here?

Are they "relevant"? Who cares? Just think of it as background info.

I'll say it before anybody else does, as I'd hate to be accused of disrupting things... again.

I dont like it when people critize christians or muslims or anyone else for their beliefs, however I'm quite happy to admit I think the whole religious thing is rubbish. I guess teasing or dissing someone for their beliefs is one thing. Discussing the reasons behind it and the idiosyncrasies is another. I wouldnt ever say "I think you're stupid because....." but I will say "I thinkITS stupid because..." Live and let live. That said, I am very interested why and how intelligent adults can believe in such stuff????

Of course if he really believes that he is walking proof of the power of prayer then he must also believe that if he hadn't prayed he would have died. Not a nice God this one...

It seems to be acceptable, to some some posters, to take the piss out of practising Christians. Those same posters are usually the ones charging in to defend anything they see as anti-Islam. It's very odd.
It hasnt gone unoticed............

And I certainly think, that the islamic/Muslim faith, is by far the worst and most dangerous.

And before I am condemmed for my view, I wont change my mind.

It happens all the time, on forums and in real life.

People seem to think nothing of referring to the God of Chrisitianty as a Sky Fairy or some such demeaning term, but wouldn't dream of referring to Allah in that way.

Alos, Christians are accused of being brainless (it's happenened several times in this discussion), but don't seem to think the same about followers of Isalm (or indeed any other religion).

Amongst non-belevers, Islam on the whole is treated with respect, whilst Christianity and its followers appear to be fair game for all sorts of ridicule.

Have no idea why this should be, other than perhaps they have some misguided sense that to say the same sort of things about Islam may somehow be seen as racist (however there are Christians of all colours and ethniic groups).

Due to my upbringing I know more about christianity so can make informed and knowledgeable comments , also islam doesnt lend itself to critism. But the two seem like they have the same roots to me - silly stuff from the old testament and I cant see the point in either

The roots may be the same, as in based texts and books from years ago, but where as the Christian religion has become more tolerant over the years, the muslim one has become more extreme, hanging gays, making women cover up etc.

In fact the way the muslims are behaving in the UK is quite sickening, of course not all are like that, but the moderates do not seem to be condeming their more radical brothers.

It is a complete and utter farce, when muslim women can be threatened in their workplace and social events in the UK, for not covering their face, hair or whatever, who do these cranks think they are?

All because of two religions emanating from two biblical (old testament) brothers (Isaac and Ishmael), born to two very old ladies (Sarah and her maid Hagar) who were shagged by an old man (Jacob) in his 80s cos "he couldnt keep it in his trousers" to quote "Jeremy Kyle". How on earth can a whole world be brainwashed into thinking this is significant and then fight over it????? Where does god/allah fit in exactly???? He doesnt. Its all about control. Muslim leaders are strict and Christians are walked all over!

If that is the case that an 80 odd year old could not keep it in his trousers and managed to father children with old ladies at his age, then he should be worshipped to the hilt.....................a legend.............lol

They even named a buscuit company after the old git.......

Is there a 'groaning' smiley??

Reminds me of another Old Testament character, Joshua. He was a keen motorcyclist and 'the roar of his Triumph could be heard throughout the land'. (Joshua 6:27)

And New Testament Paul, who liked a drink. He 'went into Three Taverns and took Courage' (Acts 28:15)

I'm too cream crackered to comment in depth, but the Nobel prize winning molecular biologist, Dr Elizabeth Blackburn, has now proved that single cells can multiply without mixing with others, and a structure called a telomere inside humans, if manipulated, can make us live forever.

For ever. If so, we won't need Gods will we?

I'm cream crackered because I've just read a long article about it all.

(Even at this early stage of the research they can predict how long you are going to live, with horrifying accuracy).

Maybe some believers could try to explain how this all works, why this all must be true, why we should have "the faith" and how normal folks are supposed to believe and worship this?? Spread the word?? It seems to me the imbalance of the two main religions is that Christians only preach to the converted and Muslims bully and control???
