Please dont exaggerate.............
Paro in Spain is decided on length of time worked and is not 400 a month for 2 years for everyone.
In Spain there is no housing benefit and no council tax benefit.
Add housing benefit and council tax benefit to unemployment benefit in the UK and you will find it is more than what you quote for Spain.
I dont know if there is additional benefit money to help feed children of the unemployed in Spain.......... somehow I think not.

I am currently paying over £600per annum, and thats with single persons discount for a Band A property in low rated East Anglia. I am sure most places in Spain are much much lower than that.!
Housing benefit is paid for predominately council\social housing costs. It is available for mortgages but only covers the interest element and it is up to the mortgagee to get the mortgage holder to accept a holiday on the capital repayments.....
Each country has different rules, a Spanish couple I know have just had their 2nd child, she is going back to work as she had a job before the birth, he is staying at home as a house husband\father as he cant get a job. It is not an ideal situation for them, she would rather be with the children, but that is how things are working out, even with help from parents.
In the UK they would both sit at home and pull in the money with the over generous benefits system.

Can we have pointers to posts that have gotten their owner a banning? I think it will be greatly educational.

I'm calling a timeout on this one.
Whilst I'm not suggesting for one moment that members can't post anywhere they choose on BE, it's not on to only post in a thread to wind up other members as evidenced in this thread.
So I'm calling it a day.
Thanks
