Keithwalters,
Having overheard agents assuring clients re legalities, in an area everyone knew had a big problem with building licences, had the clients asked your question I wouldn't bet on a truthful answer.
rowlandsbb,
I did notice the initials but from reading what some folk are going through, they obviously didn't deal with someone of similar ethics to yourself and that is the million dollar question....how does one know?
Do all British based promoters have an in house chartered surveyer or should one be employed independently?
I independantly relocated to Spain ,without a problem, but am interested in how other's can avoid pitfalls I was fortunate enough to avoid.

I forget the exact term, but you can ask for a DIA - documento informativo abreviado I think? Should have all the due diligence stuff in it. I think it became law for all agents/developers to have this document for each development about a year or so ago.

But if you don´t ask for it, you probably won´t get to see it.

Thank you Keith. I hadn't personally heard or read of this document anywhere,
Noted for future reference.

No 7 day cooling off period and the agents job is to make you purchase before leaving.
Lots of property on offer in Spain. Especially on new developments and many resales on them are cheaper than off plan where your money might be tied up for years before your property finished.
Fair enough advice, Vox
