Old fart looking for retirement home.
Hi!
First off: I'm not British, but Swedish. Hope that won't disqualify me.
I'm 63, about to retire within a few years. Being fed up with snow and darkness six months every year, I'm on the lookout for a place in Spain.
I don't think I need much. Just a small flat for one person with a decent kitchen (I like to cook), working and not too slow internet connection, and in a neighborhood that's OK.
Somewhere along the south coast, from Huelva to Almeria would be perfect.
But I don't have a clue so I'm throwing out this questions to ask for advice, hints or whatever.
Where can I, online, find a suitable flat?
Any agents I can trust?
What's a reasonable rent for e.g. a 40 square meter flat?
What else do I need or benefit from considering?
Thanks in advance....

If you are interested in Huelva province then have a look at the Ayamonte Club sub-forum. There is a thriving community in that area and I know that some Swedish people live there as well as many other nationalities. Costa Esuri golf club hosts a lot of Swedish 'snow-birds' golfers in the winter (I have rented my property to some in the past).
Post a question there and see how it goes.
