Ask on a travel forum like Trip Advisor. There you will find something that will sit your budget which you have not given us.

Enjoy your vacation

Hi thanks for that,I am aware of sites like TripAdvisor etc, but I find people are too eager to find the bad points about places and tend to be negative. I thought I might find someone on here who lived in Mojacar and could recommend a hotel or even an apartment, as for budget - no limits within reason.

thanks

John

The Parador is nice - although 'modern'. We have lots of large tripper hotels and a few smaller places which are, of course, more agreeable. You can check the Mojácar Oficina de Turismo. I'd recommend a small family one on the beach near the riverbed with cabins and a pool called the Hotel Rio Abajo http://www.rioabajomojacar.com/ or, slightly larger, the Hotel Puntazo http://www.hotelelpuntazo.com/cms/ , also on the beach (on the disco and bars end).

I have got to agree with that Lenox, after two days at Mojacar we moved on to Jaen which despite it's appearance is also very new.

I've been in that one also, but unfortunately we got one of the rooms that hadnt been updated yet, very 70s. However, the communal areas, the restaurant and especially the food were excellent.

So long as one did not go out for the evening and imbibe a little too much

If its not too late, try the Indalo.
We have stayed in Mojacar about 8 times in different hotels, and this was the best one.

We liked the jaén one although the rooms are a little tired but comfortable. Make sure you don't have a room overlooking the carpark. The restoration was a bit overzealous
