Thanks for everyone’s feedback.
maybe i have misunderstood, or the scheme hasn’t been fully defined yet. Last time i looked it appeared that it would be open to remote workers, who work for a foreign company, and get at least 50% ( i think, or maybe it was higher) of their income from abroad. If this is the case then there is no input into the spanish economy other than the person being in the country and buying goods and services, and the foreign company would not have any direct investment in spain.
I did not see that there was any requirement that the company was a startup company, but i accept i could have missed that.
i appreciate that this sort of visa is to attract younger people than me, but i thought i might just squeak in
Thanks again
john

This link gives a little more info. But even though we have only lived here for about 18months. I would expect the final bill to have undergone a few changes by the time its finally introduced (although maybe not)

Yet reading this gives a different view.

This one suggests that there will be a new tax regime for these 'nomads'

I can't actually find anything direct from the Spanish Government (don't mean to say there aint any) and all the sources I have listed all say that this is in its infancy and expect changes.

Unless you watch regularly the spanish parliament you will find nothing but speculation until it is printed in the journal detailing new laws.
My fav women in the Spanish government is the go to person for this.

I would also think that this sort of visa has been pushed to the back burner until the people who are already legally working in this country resolve their differences with the government on their current working conditions.
A few kids working on their computers or brits trying to find a backdoor into Spain are not high on the addenda at the moment.

Another good point made is that until it is law it is possibly subject to changes. Spanish government works as a fragile coalition of parties and each piece of legislation is subject to lots of basic give and takes depending on what everyone might want. These wants can be different every month and as such Bill's are changed and in the case of the famous Universal Healthcare it never got fully passed. So at the moment until this is actually passed it is really nothing.

Call me cynical but it does rather seem that business is latching on to what people have already been doing for a long time, and is looking to package it into a "product", promote it and make money.
I was travelling and working from my motorhome in the early 2000s. I didn't regard myself as part of a movement and there was no need to join a community or pay anyone for support. I just did it because it suited me at the time.
