Mr N and Myself and Little Olivia will be having our first spanish lesson on 4th august.

We have decided to learn the basic's so far i do not know a lot of spanish Mr N knows more than me, and olivia knows hello goodbye and poo.

Miss N, I have started downloading Coffee break Spanish from i-Tunes, it has helped more than any other Spanish lessons for my OH, it downloads each episode week by week and is totally free.

If you want a hand downloading it give me a shout.

I know it might sound a stupid question Matt but do you have to have an ipod to use the one your missis is using or can you use it on the pc.

all you have to do is download the i-Tunes software, I used http://www.filehippo.com/download_itunes/ for all that kind of thing, then once you have it loaded just go into the podcast section and look for Coffee break Spanish, I have 43 episodes downloaded, and it downloads each one as it come out.

They are about 20 mins long and for my OH are absolutely brilliant.

forgot to say that it is easy then to just burn them onto a CD

You should be able to download about 4 episodes onto a cd, so its ideal.

That sounds easy enough - ive stuggled with other spanish courses - its not easy when you have a broad lancashire accent

Can you imagine what it is like in our house then when the arguments break out about clarity. OH is from Sheffield and I am from Plymouth so we sound sooooo different saying the same word. I defy anyone to murder Spanish as successfully as we do.

My dad is from Morecambe and he can speak quite a few languages, just be persistent and you have to want to learn.

Surrounding yourself with Spanish speakers helps, my OH now works with an Argie girl and another girl married to an Argie so they always talk Spanish to her.

When we drive anywhere we have the i-Pod playing, we are a captive audience and she has to learn then.

I dunno why everyone finds it hard

Its so simple just follow a few rules and soon you will speak to the Spanish easy peasy

My Tips;

Learn the basic hello bye etc,,
Then add the "io"phrase on each normal word , example below ..


"Ola Havio gotio anyio looio paperio inio yourio shopio "

As you speak to them you may sometimes have to use arm actions to help them understand , but always works for me

imagine the arm actions for that one!!
