Yes I agree re wording but that is how they define it old age pension is state pension not defined as government so should be taxed if applicable in country of the residence.i think personally quite a % of expat pensioner will be retired police, fire or NHS and retired armed forces so quite a few will pay uk tax.

I pay a substantial amount of tax in the U.K., I reside in the Canary Isles and have done so for years, I also pay tax to the Spanish authorities.
I believe that it is my right to have representation in whatever country that taxes my income, where I choose to reside is irrelevant.
