Hi Mitzy,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune.

Michael said, instead of vaseline just use oil. Superglue won't stick to it either. Another thing he mentioned was getting a cheap camera and motion sensitive light (they are not very expensive). You put the camera on the same circuit and when the motion sensitive light goes on so does the camera. I think it would put your mind at ease and perhaps stop these incidents altogether.

I'll pop up and stick some oil in it, but I have a feeling they are injecting it in some way staight into the lock

You can get a cheap cctv type camera (there are some around, I'll find out where you can get one from tomorrow) and put it on the same circuit as a motion sensitive light (an electrician can do this for you). When there is motion, then the light comes on and so does the cctv camera. If nothing, the light will deter people lurking around your gate and a sign that you've got cctv will help even more.

That sounds like a good idea Mitzy But don't put up a notice about the camera straight away - catch the blighters first

Hi Mitzy,

I contacted the person with the CCTV camera thingie and he said he bought it from Argos in the UK. I know they sell both the cameras and motion sensitive floodlights here at the big ferreterias. Why not go and have a look at prices, etc.

That big place at the turn to Calpe on the N332 might sell them I guess

I think they do. I can check tomorrow as we go in there quite often.

There is also the Bonaire Ferreteria in Benissa on the 332.

Well nothing has happened so far
I have had an alarm fitted and sineage on the wall
I have stuffed vaseline into every orifice & rubbed oil everywhere
Next, I am going to do the locks

Did not think of it before but I am wondering whether the superglued lock was to stop you from going out and about in your Max Wall garb.....maybe some kind soul was trying to save Spain from the sight!!!!!!
