Malicious or more sinister
I think I mentioned a week or so ago that my gate locks were attacked, and at the time I thought they were drilled. But having looked at the old locks I see that there isn't that much damage and wondered if it might be superglue or something like that.
Anyway I spend €350 on two new security locks. At around 9 tonight I went out to check the car door was locked, and found I couldn't get out of the gate. I cant see properly as its dark, but it looks like the same has happened again. There aren't that many kids around here, mostly middle aged. So I suppose it could be someone being plain malicious. Or is it something more sinister ... they cant get at my other car behind the gate as its alarmed and immobilised to the hilt (although they dont know that). They haven't touched the Jeep out on the road. Just immobilised the two locks. Anyone heard of anything like this? Maybe to make me think about not bothering putting locks back on there? Bloody annoying as (a) Ive thrown away €350 euros and (b) if I replace them will they do it again :frown: |
Re: Malicious or more sinister
I'd say that they are probably hoping you get fed up with spending out on new locks and eventually leave it open.
How about a decent chain and padlock? Got to be cheaper to but new padlocks than €350! Trouble is if you leave it open its not that they will steal anything. Its the damage they do trying! :curse: Best of luck |
Re: Malicious or more sinister
It might be cheaper to install a CCTV camera to keep an eye on things.

I second the padlock idea.
and a big dog, oh and they aren't likely to take the Suzuki are they??!! |
Re: Malicious or more sinister
Im not completly sure but if you get another lock, put something in the the hole like Vasaline and I think the superglue cant stick.

Re: Malicious or more sinister
Will acetone dissolve the superglue?
