I feel that none of what has been posted over the past 100 posts has anything to do with the OPs original post. I feel this thread should be closed as it has morphed into an entirely different topic. One or more of the posters here should be directed elsewhere.

Sadly some members appear to have taken the opportunity to push each others buttons which in one way well has ended up ensuring that the whole thread truly reflects the title of the thread. Grim reading fits extremely well with most of the content.

Can I ask that everyone take a deep breath, remove their fingers from their keyboards and begin again in a respectful manner. Stay within the site rules, remember that each and every one of us have feelings on many subjects and that we are not all going to agree much of the time. This is a discussion forum not a place to try to cause unnecessary arguments or to try to score points off each other.

Keep it polite, make posts that are worthwhile reading and please be respectful.

In the last few weeks a number of other forums have been ruined by what appears to be the same poster ( check the similarities btw the nature of their names). They infiltrate threads by slowly twisting things towards Brexit and immigration. Before you know it lots of threads are off topic and a slagging match ensues with warnings from moderators and then bans. Then they re-emerge a few days later with new name and start all over again.

Any real examples to be aware of?

Examples from other forums are not welcome on BE. We stand alone and deal with issues as they present themselves and are not influenced by what occurs elsewhere.

Personally I agree that the thread has gone away from the original post. However once the subject of immigration to UK was brought up and related to Spain I don't see why a reasoned debate can't be had? After all majority of us using the forum are ourselves immigrants to Spain. I see where Chipmonk is coming from re an individual simply entering the forum with the intention of disrupting the forum and creating bad feeling. It was fairly easy to pick out the intention of that poster and call them out without resorting to any offence. Again Chipmonk in my view was only trying to make others aware of this. I'm sure admin picked up on the posts being referred to and will deal accordingly.
