Hi, Thanks so much for your reply - much appreciated! I have looked at the photos and it looks nice. We are not looking for work - although a couple of part-time jobs would be nice! Anything practical you can tell me is most welcomed. Weather/cost of living etc......
Once again, Thanks
Barbara

Long term rents start from € 400-450 for a two bedroom apt. water and electricity not included. We pay for example for electricity € 60 per month (but we heat our house in the winter with a woodstove and solar powered central heating instead of using electric heaters), water € 50. Landline and 6 MB ADSl € 40 p.month.

Hi Jur,
Thank you so much for the links and info you sent me - much appreciated!!!
Anything else you can think of to tell me will be welcome. The pictures and video looks really nice. Is English spoken widely. I do intend to learn some language. I did Spanish to intermediate quite a number of year ago, but will enrol in a language class.
Can two people live comfortable on around to thousand euros a month?
I have looked at property on the internet - are the prices I am seeing correct, or are they overpriced do you think?
I look forward to hearing from you

Hi, Get ready to learn some Spanish because if you want to enjoy your time here you will only benefit from it. English is not widely spoken in the area at all. However, you can get by with some basic Spanish and your hands and feet. (Point at your mouth if your hungry
)
One thousand € a month to spend seems ok to me, but I have no idea of your lifestyle (Smoking, drinking, eating out, etc.)
Property prices ? Tricky subject, as said before, rent a place first, meet people and have a good look around. Before we bought our place we´ve looked at about 12-16 different properties over a 4 month period.
Good luck!

Hi Jur,
Thank you again for your information.
I meant to say two thousand euros - so I guess we will be ok with that
Also, approx what time is dawn?/Sunset?
Do youhave a lot of mosquitos?

Many thanks,
Barbara

Hi,
No it's not meant to be weird
We don't have daylight saving here, so the latest it stays light in the evening is 7.oo in summer. Sunrise is usually around about 4.30 ish in the morning
Maybe I have made it less weird a question now? I hope so lol

Hi Barbara, welcome to the Ayamonte Club. Today the sun rose at 8.21am and will set at 8.19pm, during July and August it is still light at 10pm.With regard to mozzies there are some but not so many to be a problem and are easily controlled.
Finally, the nearest airport is Faro (Portugal) which is about 45mins by car. Regards Bryony

Barbara, just something that might interest you. Have a friend who has just paid under 500€ long term rent for a house at Costa Esuri. Don't know if this is of any interest to you but that seems a good deal to me but you will need to get a feel of the area and decide which area you prefer. But I doubt if you could get a house to rent in the centre of Ayamonte for that price at this moment in time.

Hi Sharon,
thanks for your mail.
Did you mean 500 euros/month? That sounds like a good deal if it is on a monthly basis!!
It's great to have some contact - please look out for me, any info you can give, I'm hungry for!!
Best wishes,
Barbara

That´s a bargain? To live in an area where´s no public transport, one (expensive) grocery shop and only the golfclubhouse to go for a drink + building work going round everywhere, I´m sure there are better offers in Ayamonte town or even Isla Canela.
Nothing against Costa Esuri, but € 500 seems high to me.

Is that pool going to be open all year round or from mid june till end of august? I don´t think that a communal swimming pool is enough for a € 500sales pitch to rent on Esuri. Furthermore, Barbara will have to buy a car straightaway or rely on taxis.
What about my other arguments? No Shops, No Restaurants?
