You can even tell that some members of this cyber forum know what it's all about, they know the hundred-year-old songs, they seep into your bones and you can't escape them. Derry walls? I've never even been to the place! |

Re: Justice at last!
I was sitting in the sun in Spain yesterday afternoon, on the terrace of a Spanish bar watching the world go by. I had watched the news earlier with my Cockney wife who had asked, 'Who is this Gerry Adams?' It made me feel good hearing it.
She spotted the idiot first, a middle aged expat only wearing shorts and showing off his tattoos, many of them. He paraded in front of the cafe crowd, it was a holiday, making sure they saw all of his tattoos. I heard several people, both in English and Spanish say, 'What a c***.' but I don't suppose the idiot understood. I don't know if many people recognised his tattoos, but I did and kept quiet. They were Maze prison tattoos and this guy was proud of them. |

Re: Justice at last!
Which faction had he belonged to, they all were in the Maze.
There was a very good interview this morning on BBC with the sister of another missing victim. She does not want to know who killed her brother or anyone bought to justice , she just wants to be able to bury him with all due reverence and dignity. Hers is the voice that should be listened to, not those seeking revenge or to be able to claim a victory in a war that nobody won. |

Then as you hav sad Tommy, there should be presecutions of those who ordered the shootings or carried them out on Bloody Sunday.
Justice has to be seen to be fair to be accepted by all. |

Justice has to be seen to be fair to be accepted by all. There will never be justice for all, it's impossible. Atrocities committed over many years with the perpetrators dead. Now is the time to consolidate the peace and move forward and work to remove the hatred that still divides the Isle. Token prosecutions with little hope of leading to conviction will set the search for peace back years. |

Watching the Trimble interview last night it was clear that to get the Good Friday agreement through one party or the other insisted crimes committed during the troubles would stay on the books. I doubt that the IRA, INLA, UDA and UVF etc etc would have signed up if they thought that the leaders of the process would in later years be charged with alledged crimes. |
