I think you have completely missed the point of this thread MT - how would you feel if this was your business that was under threat of closure eh - im sure you would hope that people would support you too xxx

i think if you bought a property in the centre of town you would expect some noise, if you bought a villa/plot in a quiet road over looking the golf course you would not expect live music playing till midnight , there are villa's nearer than the one that has made the complaint, who is going to buy them?, do people not care what neighbours have to put up with as long as they have a good time, seems very selfish, there are empty commercial made bluidings for this, a shame a compromise could not be reached

I would be devastated if my business faced closure. I would welcome any support I had. I don't bemoan Jag for that at all.
I would though, also be devastated if I had to unexpectedly, contend with the problems caused by the restaurant opening next door to me.
It is an unfortunate situation.
All I have said throughout is that people affected should be entitled to follow legal means without bullying and villification and that there views should not be overlooked on this thread. I do believe the views to be disturbingly one sided. It doesn't make me evil; it just makes my view different to yours.

Me and the hubbs have said a few times if we had the money we'd love the villa on the left of Jags - nope not coz we are in the Jag Gang - but we'd be cheeky enough to ask to use his pool as its a bloody cracker and we couldnt ever afford on that big
- plus we'd be nearer to the golf for my son who's a very keen player - you never know if the villas do come down in price - maybe one day we'd be able to afford one - the way its going i think its going to be retirement age
- but hey ho i live in hope with mi lottery ticket every week xxxxx

I dont think its a case of growing a pair MT - the point of the whole thread is to try and save a business which we have all used (sorry i dont know if you have or not) - in this day and age i think its important to try and help out any local business - we do when we are over there - we also support all the businesses down in Ayamonte too (as we are on holiday we refuse to cook so we always eat out)
Taking Jags out of the equation - if it was the Golf Club or Manolos i would be objecting to their closure as well as we use them and enjoy their services - CE needs businesses on there for it not to die out - i cannot believe that people would want a business to close down on there - it needs more not them closing down - you as buyers were promised lots of businesses and none of them have developed as yet which i think is really sad - what we should be doing is encouraging them not offering them up to closure - if i could think of a good business that I COULD MAKE MONEY OUT OF ON THERE (coz that is what a business is about is it not) i would open one too - but i work with kids so i dont really think there is any call for my skills unfortunately xxxxx

Thank you! A succinct appraisal. You have summed up exactly what I have been trying to say in three pages with one paragraph...

I really don't see how anybody can argue with that .... common sense.

- everyone has the right to an opinion and to put it on paper or page - whicheverOf course we feel for the neighbours - but surely they knew what was there before they built (and if not should they not be taking this up with whoever sold it to them or their solicitor) - there are plenty of plots up for sale - was there no chance of swapping - or selling their plot and buying another one - im sure if i was that bothered about it i would have gone down the selling up and buying further up the hill tbh
We are not completely heartless you know - we just want CE to thrive xxxxx

I think that is what everybody wants, a happy thriving place which all enjoy. I too would be pee'd off if I was the neighbour. And if Jag has to survive with quieter music or even none then that is better than losing the place.

Mr Trumper (sic) seems to be a self-appointed Don Quixote, champion of the oppressed underdog - tilting at windmills (Jag's Gang).
As I have said before I don't believe there is such a thing as Jag's Gang but there certainly seems to be an Anti-Jag Gang - and Mr T is blowing the trumpet for it (diversionary tactic - accuse others of what you are doing yourself!). I don't know what Jag did to upset him(or her) so much in the past and I do not know Jag personally. But I wish he would just let it lie.
What I do know is that Jag took an enormous risk for which he deserves praise, and has brought an awful lot of pleasure to an awful lot of people through the Bistro. He has brought employment to a few and probably helped a few gain additional rental income by attracting visitors to the area. He provides a valuable service which people visit from all over including Portugal. He seems to be popular with Spanish eaters and drinkers as well as there always a reasonable number of Spanish patrons - so he doesn't just cater for a few ex-pats. The competition has certainly caused the Club to up their game and it is much better for it and is probably attracting a lot more custom.
I will doubtless be accused of worshipping Jag as a demi-god and leading a love fest but hey if that's the result of having an honest opinion on this forum, so be it!
BTW - I have not in any of my posts even mentioned the neighbour dispute so I cannot be accused of vilification or callous indifference to his discomfort - but that needs to be settled by negotiation between the two parties and not this forum.

I have no gripe against Jag. I think the neighbours have had a very raw deal.....
My views are not extreme or one-sided.
