Increased taxes
In a thread recently Mitzy asked about the increase of various taxes but I cannot find it. Anyway I received our car tax demand today €45.41 exactly the same as last year so hopefully the rest of the taxes will be the same. Some hopes.

The Circulation Tax (Road Tax) is a Town Hall tax, thus every Municipality is/can be different.

Yes I think we know that, but interesting to see the differences. Also varies depending on the car engine / emissions
Incidentally, when I moved 15km the tax increased threefold - I now pay €140 for a 1.9l diesel. That's more than it would cost in the UK. |

Are you sure that it is now based on emissions? I know that the registration tax now is but I thought that the local tax was still based on "fiscal horsepower".

Don't worry. They will 'let you pay' with an appropriate fine and back interest added.

The fun will start when you come to sell it ,no one will want it , also traffico are now asking for proof that taxes are paid so you'll end up have the car impounded.

Just in passing. I was wondering how, if you are not the registered owner, you can insure it, ITV etc. Also when a person is driving a vehicle not registered to them they need an authorisation letter from the owner. If I am not mistaken, beaches of Traffic regulations are contrary to the law, not civil matters. |
