Increased taxes
In a thread recently Mitzy asked about the increase of various taxes but I cannot find it. Anyway I received our car tax demand today €45.41 exactly the same as last year so hopefully the rest of the taxes will be the same. Some hopes.

Re: Increased taxes
Incidentally, when I moved 15km the tax increased threefold - I now pay €140 for a 1.9l diesel.
That's more than it would cost in the UK.

I did read somewhere that emissions come into it, but tbh as far as I know mine is based on the size of the vehicle

Are you sure that it is now based on emissions? I know that the registration tax now is but I thought that the local tax was still based on "fiscal horsepower".

I think they add some on for all the illegal UK motors here.

The fun will start when you come to sell it ,no one will want it , also traffico are now asking for proof that taxes are paid so you'll end up have the car impounded.

Re: Increased taxes
Just in passing. I was wondering how, if you are not the registered owner, you can insure it, ITV etc. Also when a person is driving a vehicle not registered to them they need an authorisation letter from the owner.
If I am not mistaken, beaches of Traffic regulations are contrary to the law, not civil matters.
