not a dinner party as such, but I do have some italian cookware that is like a great big electric crockpot, when we have guests for meals I do spag bol or Paella in one of these and just serve it up on the coffee table and it's a free for all... on the plus side there's never any left so either I'm a good cook or the guests are happy with the eating arrangements...and no-one ever complains about eating on laps.

In my family we have been dedicated to this sector and health requirements are very high, with periodic sanity checks. So I can say for agricultural or livestock products from Spain. Not only spanish products go through spanish health checks, also of the European Union checks. And only Spanish products (I think they do the same with the EU countries). In other words, double controls. However, the ****ing European Union not request the same thing with the products that arrives outside of our borders, as Morocco, Argentina or any other country
We are surrounded by viruses, bacteria and parasites. You can see a beautiful lake with clear water, but deep down can live a bacterium lectal if it enters the human body will eat the brain, or for example the bacteria or parasites that are in land, like a tapeworm that can lodge in the eye and to cause a blindness. Our mascots have very similar parasites

Nothing wrong with Spanish food products. In fact Spain has some of the best quality food in the world, from Iberian jamon to the wines, many varieties of tomato and mushrooms - and the seafood etc etc. The problem is that the Brits in Spain are cheapskates and refuse the pay the premium that the really good stuff costs.

PS Next time you buy fish have a look at where it's from.

As for looking where the fish comes from, yes we always do. And we normally buy from Spanish waters. I believe threads like that have been done to death...

Australia has very strict controls. OH was stopped because some sandals in his carry bag had a bit of foreign sludge on the sole
