Cut out the bickering folks, or take it to PM. Constant picking at each other isn't fair to other members. If you can't get on put each other on ignore so the rest of us don't have to read it, otherwise this thread is going to end up on the cutting room floor.

60's & 70's Arpanet went online in 1969
yes, I know it is closer to WWI but we had some really great technology surges caused by the Cold War and Uncle Sam having big pockets
The first SSBN (nuclear powered balistic missile submarine) USS George Washington entered service Dec 1959
The first satellite navigation system was launched in 1960 and was the forerunner of the GPS so many people use so freely today
The RN started developing Satellite Communications systems in 1966-7 and the first operational ship system fitted in 1970

and we didnt worry about salmonella in eggs, and I should imagine never even considered importing from anywhere, letalone Spain.
