The Fiestas are like the Tardis... I think they are great little homes for two, if you don't (as John says,) want the higher running costs

This is our semi detached Rebecca, (I have shown it before) 2 beds, a good size lounge, dining area and kitchen. Fully tiled bathroom, Rear courtyard, Huge roof terrace and at the front we have a large terrace which we will hopefully (eventually) have part glassed in, then we have a front and side garden. Oh and a huge underbuild space which we use for storageHomes from Hell ITV re Camposol-spain-2010-043.jpg
We are on C2 and are located in a lovely street, which is mainly full time residents and the most fab views from our roof and front terrace....I love our home...and there's more than enough room for us and our family when they come over

Spain's Camposol Golf Community to Benefit from New Paramount-Branded Theme Park

Camposol Golf Community, Murcia Spain

(MURCIA, SPAIN) -- Construction of the Paramount-branded theme Park in Murcia could begin as early as February 2012, according to the Murcia regional
government. Promoters pledge that construction will be fast and may well be completed in 2014 - a year ahead of schedule. This will dovetail nicely with the arrival of the high-speed AVE in Murcia.

Murcian officials are convinced that the Paramount-branded Theme Park green light was given largely on the basis of the brand new Murcia International Airport located within 20 minutes of the site at Corvera. The new airport is scheduled to be completed late this year and open to passengers in spring 2012 following final government approval. Paramount personnel have conducted site visits to witness its swift progress.

"The Airport's initial capacity for three million passengers a year, including many who currently use Alicante, was said to be key to securing the flagship project," said Chris Mercer of Murcia-based agent Mercers. "Murcia International Airport will also become the first airport in Spain to be crossed by a high-speed rail link (AVE) and the third, after Barcelona and Madrid, to have a rail link at all - further opening up domestic and international traffic to the Theme Park. Before long a European spotlight will fall on this area and our property sales are already rising from those keen to cash-in on lucrative rental opportunities of the future."

Camposol Golf Community, Murcia Spain

The president for Murcia's Flagship Projects Jesus Samper, on behalf of the joint venture scheme, believes that an initial investment of 300 million Euros will be enough to complete main infrastructure for the Paramount-branded Theme Park. The remaining facilities such as retail outlets and hotels, that could run an additional 1 billion Euros at build out, can be completed in phases and be part-funded by those private enterprises keen on benefitting from what is set to be the biggest theme park in Europe.
With a definitive master plan in place for September this year outlining usage of the 108 hectares of land, 37 dedicated to the Park itself, project members will then embark on a road show to attract investors in London, New York, Shanghai and the UAE, among others. Investment funds and business groups have already expressed an interest in the project including Russian billionaire and casino operator Oleg Boyko who made a surprise personal visit to Murcia.

One golf course community expected to benefit from this future theme park development is Camposol Golf in nearby Mazarron, literally minutes from the Alhama de Murcia Theme Park. :

Camposol Golf has an 18-hole golf course, four-star spa hotel and plenty of shops, restaurants and bars on site. The blue flag beaches and marina of Mazarron are within a 15 minute drive.

Having read a lot about the project I would like to place my bet that it never gets off the ground.

Paramount Theme Park

Detailed plans for the Paramount Theme Park (To be known as Paramount Resort Murcia) to be built in Murcia have now been revealed , The President for the Company responsible for the project along with executives from Paramount licensing, revealed that the theme park will hopefully be open in late 2014. Construction start date recently reported by Regional Government is February 2012 The theme park is expected to attract five million visitors per year, that’s 50% more than Port Aventura, currently Spain’s largest theme park.
The park is to be built on 108 acres of land in Alhama de Murcia just 20 minutes from the new international airport at Corvera which opens early in 2012 and is only 20 minutes from the beaches of the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor. Its location is ONLY a 10-15 minute drive from CAMPOSOL so the Villas offered by us are to be considered the perfect location for any family wishing to take in the joys of what is to be one of Europe’s biggest attractions. Demand is expected to be high and reservations made as soon as an opening date is announced will secure you a holiday to remember.
The location of the park is in an area that has 300 days of sunshine per year, The park has been described as the “envy of Europe” and will feature four main areas.
The first area called “City Adventure” will include three major attractions. One of them will be based on the film Titanic and will feature a huge reproduction of the ocean liner. This area will also host one of three roller coasters to be built in the park based on “The Italian Job” and a virtual reality feature entitled “Mission Impossible”.
The second area, “Lost Valley”, will feature a water ride recreating a trip down the Congo river along with a recreation of the crypt from “Tomb Raider” and a rollercoaster based on the legend of Beowulf.
Especially designed for children is the “Woodland Fantasy” area. A more tranquil offering, dominated by a large tree and featuring magic workshops and interactive adventures including one based on the “Spiderwick Chronicles”.
Plaza Futura is the cutting edge technology area which will feature “Star Trek” and a spectacular recreation of “War of the Worlds”. Not for the faint hearted this area will feature a passage of terror based on the feature film “Paranormal Activity”.
The centrepiece of the park will be an avenue flanked by hotels, restaurants and a shopping centre with a pavilion focusing on the attractions of the region of Murcia and Spain.
Over one billion Euros is to be invested in the park which will employ in excess of 10,000 people during the course of construction. The park will also contain an auditorium with capacity for 15,000 people and the largest convention centre in the region of Murcia capable of accommodating over 3,000 people in its main hall.

Most of the Politicians behind the hype are under suspicion of corruption. Anyone can put out glowing plans. The fact is they need to attract investors without which nothing will happen. Paramount only concede the licence and charge for doing so.

Where on Camposol would you suggest we go for coffee to talk to residents Carole? Is there a particular meet up bar or restaurant?

Well Jacky we can live in hope lol!!!!

I will still love our home, Paramount or no Paramount. I do sometimes wonder will it be for the best or not, Mazarron is a lovely area as it is, but the area is crying out for work, for everyone , it would create hundreds of jobs and rental opportunities and bring prosperity to the area

I know about all of the corruption, hype etc, however most of the politicians are corrupt....everywhere , UK INCLUDED so we will have to wait and see......
