Unhappy Re: healthcare in spain

I feel awful on this site. Completely ganged up on and interogated. I thought at first people were helpful... but maybe it's what wealthy middle class expats do in their spare time between drinking their coffee and taking there kids to the park.

For everyone's clarification. I am GAY. My partner is in Spain because she was just electrocuted in an accident and 60 percent of her body is burned. She is from spain and they flew her there after the accident... SO NOW I AM GOING TO ****ING SPAIN OKAY!!!!!! I am a mess. My parents who are older and whom I LOVE A LOT are back in the UK. I own a house with them. I planned to live there, but for the next 6 months to a year (or more) I need to be in spain being my partners bedmaid and dealing with this GIANT UNEXPEXTED LIFE ALTERING TRAGEDY! I am exhausted, sad, tired, and I just trying to put my life back together. I have no money and I don't speak Spanish and I miss my girlfriend terribly. Healthcare can be important in these situations and I am JUST TRYING TO DEAL WITH MY NEEDS!

SO PLEASE have some respect, stop interogating strangers when you JUST don't know. Be tolerant and patient in life.... if you act this way towards me, I wonder how you talk to yourself?

Please, I am asking, be gentle with me. I have little capacity for... anything these days.

Thank you.

You have my deepest sympathy.

Such a tragic list of events, if that was me, i`d have needed counsilling for sure.

My god 60% burns, you need to get to Spain quick, most deaths occur above 30%, so she obviously in a very very very bad way.

Phoebedance I am sorry for livit's earlier remark. It was uncalled for and is not in the spirit of BE. I apologise.

Livit please try and think past the written word. Peoples plans change and we don't know personal circumstances etc, etc. Plus not everyone wants to divulge their personal situation on a public forum ... and indeed why should they.

Exactly, you can only give advice on the information that is given.
Reading the first post it sounded like she was trying to get a British passport and UK healthcare to take to Spain without even qualifying for it.

Of course, but lets give people the benefit of a doubt before jumping all over them.

Sometimes we are all a bit quick to jump the wrong conclusion, that's all.

I dont think anyone has jumped to the wrong conclusions ,perhaps if we were furnished with the facts from the outset we may have looked at it differently (I personally had said nothing but was watching what was going on ) I think Livit and Jackytoo have it spot on, why suddenly after quite a few posts come up with the sob story ,If like a few others I am wrong I sincerely apologise but don't you think we have a right to be sceptical of what I personally think is waffle .

I think if I was the OP then I would certainly feel ganged up upon. Why should she have to tell you that her partner has suffered burns.

May I strongly suggest that if you dont have any further helpful thoughts to post on here then you dont post any further, I still have to refer people to rule 1. If you dont believe what shes saying then dont post. If you do then post some helpful advice. End of story

Many thanks for your cooperation

I am sorry you feel this way and also for all of your problems but I am not sure where you are getting this idea that we are all wealthy middle class expats with nothing to do. Alot of us have to work hard here with long hours and to avail of the Spanish health care we have to pay at least €249 a month unless we are retirement age or have up to date contributions before leaving the UK.

OP has asked to have her account closed, and as such can no longer post. Therefore I am closing this thread.
