Long Range Weather Forecast for Spain
Apparently it is going to be HOT. However down here in Chiclana it´s cool. Never known it like this. May and June have been appalling.

Re: Long Range Weather Forecast for Spain
Is it really going to be hot in Benalmadena next week when we get back?
In the UK at the moment and it is dreadful - feels like it is about October.

I think we are talking further ahead than one week.
I would guess that this is the subject the OP was referring to.

Re: Long Range Weather Forecast for Spain
I keep hearing that its going to be a really hot summer. Seems to me though that "spring" has been a lot longer than usual, and yesterday it was raining here. Today we have really strong winds that we usually get here in April & May.
Weather forcasts in Spain even in the short term, I have learned, mean very very little as even a week long forcast changes on a daily basis as far as I can see

for weather i use a combination, but like
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/...t?query=gandia
and
http://www.weather-forecast.com/loca...recasts/latest
again they only go about a week ahead, but these are changed fairly often

Re: Long Range Weather Forecast for Spain
Another one based near Lake Vinuela in Malaga province is www.malagaweather.com
None of them actually do forecasts, they get it from another web location. Gib weather uses www.weather.com
All these online forecasts use data freely available from the US weather service and NOAA. If you want to use that data have a look at www.ugrib.com and you can download a program that will show you the wind/rain and pressure every 3 hours for 7 days. I use it all the time and it is the best you can get.
Forecasting temperatures and cloud cover is more difficult. I use the forecasts prepared by the USAF in Germany. They give a 5 day forecast with a 6 hourly forecast for the next 48 hours and then 24 hourly.
Try it at http://ows.public.sembach.af.mil/ind...ection=SFCProg
For short term rain forecasting you cannot beat the rain radar pictures (every 30 mins) from the Spanish met office at http://www.aemet.es/es/eltiempo/observacion/radar
Most of these forecasts available on the Internet give the impression of accuracy because they are available for so many locations. It's actually a bit of a myth because all they do is interpolate from the main weather picture given from the data I mentioned and the results can sometimes be surprisingly inaccurate. Even the Spanish 7 day localised forecast has this warning in the small print:-
"They are generated automatically by means of statistical processing of the output from numerical weather forecasting models. This could lead sometimes to disagreement with other forecasts, particularly those made by this Agency for weather hazards which are produced by forecasters interpreting and appropriating the models output and which can be found in this web site."
I shall now go and consult my seaweed!
