Sorry Matt but have to disagree with that.
Gordon Ramsey cooks his cabbage in less heat than you would get watering the grass in 40 c heat.

Ours gets watered now and again and has never had any fertilizer on it, its only campo grass after all.

jdr is right (don't tell him though it goes to his head) if it is a runner type grass, and I suspect it would be because that is generally a "tropical" style grass, it will recover, just be kind to it next time.
