Dear God!!!!! It's not just a chip.....it's a whole bag of McCains stuck on her shoulder!!!!! Judging by the dodgy spelling of "advice", I'm guessing there's American influence which may explain the uppitiness (does this word exist????)
As someone mentioned before, calm down and you will recieve lots of advice (see??)
I would advise (getting it now?) in all honesty sending your kids to Spanish schools and not the international ones.
With regards to your Sky subscription, you can bring your box down and the card, keep up the payments (best by credit card as you don't need UK address) and all you need to do is make sure your dish is big enough and pointing the right way. OR, of course, being that you will be in Spain, you could leave that behind and get Digital Plus giving you the advantage of choosing whether to watch in Spanish or English with Spanish subtitles. Might mean you have to give up Corrie, Supermarket Sweep and Celebrity Big Brother.

Hi,
We have just agreed an offer on ahouse near Alicante, San Vicente to be exact and I now need some advise from experienced expats. Please take the time to reply to me as any advise could save me and my children hours of hard work. Thank you.
1-Horses...Does anyone keep horses in Spain or even the Alicante area? What do I need to be most aware of? Do you know of any good places to buy horses? Or not!!!!!!
Grazing, feed, shoeing etc.
2-Health- Am I best to go private? If so who are the best providers? Do my children get free health care?
3-Child benefit- Can I still get it if living in Spain?
4-House and contents insurance. Best suppliers. Worst suppliers. Are they tied to your mortgage?
5-Sky TV..Can I just litteraly bring my box over and plus it in?(we have dishes there)
6-International Schools in Alicante? Anyone been to them, know of them?
7-Baby groups, toddler groups in Alicante?
8-Utility costs? How much are you paying yearly for electricity and water?
9-Pets- who is the best company to bring a dog over with?
10-My husband will still be working in the UK, is it best to pay tax here in Spain or in the Uk?
Thank you
Jayne & Jon

Hi
Re Point No. 1 Horses
For somewhere relatively local and English speaking, you could try contacting Richard and Sue Lust. Ive pm'd you their website in case I shouldn't advertise.
This couple are building up a lovely establishment in a wonderfully picturesque part of Murcia, called Tobarra. The countryside is stunning, miles and miles of unfenced land to ride in, I know, Ive been there. They cover a wide range of equestrian activities including sales of the PRE.

Thank you all for your postings. They are very helpful.
I would be very interested in finding out about the problems that your husband has encountered with his tax. We have been advised by our accountant to carry on paying in England as my husband has a very good pension provision from the company and seeing as he will be there for more days than in spain it may make sense. I wish to register as a resident though with the children, has anyone experience of this?

Ahhh.......I bow down to you. Although.....
...one could suggest that my error was a typo and the other a repeated use of the US lazy use of English.
But hey....I don't want to bring you down off your high of scoring a well-earned point. Well done!!!!
