Re: Gibraltar
The way I read it and also from the Radio news is that most illegal incursions are made by Spanish State vessels, however it would appear there was a small number from other countries.
Who they were or how many I have no idea at the moment.

principally if not exclusively, Spanish state vessels.

Re: Gibraltar
Terribly badly written. Government vessels implies official (navy or other military) which I suppose could be true but I doubt it and that would not therefore include fishing vessels.
More likely they mean foreign flagged vessels, most of which would be Spanish fishermen and GC patrol vessels and the other nationalities arriving unannounced or maybe getting too close as they navigate through the straits.

Re: Gibraltar
This demonstrates the UK are not doing much about it. Hague has been very quiet recently..about everything. Perhaps he has a new interest

Re: Gibraltar
The truth is that HMG and the majorty of the UK publc does not give a flying fig for the tax dodging expats in Gib.
On a scale of 1-100 in things that really matter Gib is 101.

Re: Gibraltar
As " Cpl Jone " used to say " they do not like It up em ".
The facts are that the UK man in the street does not give a fg about Gib.
He has far more mportant things to worry about, not the least his holiday in Spain.
Do you thnk for 1 second that he would give a seconds thought to boycotting Spain because a few tax dodgers are inconvenienced by border queues.

Re: Gibraltar
There has been lots of calls on forums for a boycott of Spanish holidays (not on expat ones of course). Unlikely though as there aren't many safe places to go that has Brit bars with cheap beer. The British people do care about Gibraltar...not sure about Hague

Re: Gibraltar
Where is you evedence that the Brts care about the tax dodgers of Giib.
It does not even get a mention in the DM or Express these days.
There may be calls on Forums but the Brits are not gong to give up their holiday in the Costas.
