My memory may be failing me but I seem to remember that was a Dennis Healey statement?

I think you are right but the sentiment is still the same.

Hold on you have not yet accused Gib of pornography are you missing something?

From the above you are only interested in Gib being taxed and non of the other providers.
You are showing your RACIST attitude again

Judging by the recruiting in Gib the industry here is not too concerned by the future, and the point of consumption tax will apply to all.
The biggest losers in recent UK gambling tax changes appear to be the operators in the UK high streets.

Things that are necessary such as food should not be taxed, that which the human race can do without, gambling, alcohol, tabacco etc should be taxed to the max levels that the consumer will stand.
If Tax shuts down high street shops and a few companies in Gib then so be it.
What this has got do with racism is way beyond me.

I would get your prescription checked the pills are obviously not working.

Sorry that you are so weak brained.

Racism in this case is because you are singling out Gibraltar for your attacks and failing to mention all the other countries that provide online gambling.

Something that you have repeatedly done before.

My point exactly the high street companies you mention all have internet portals and many are registered in Gibraltar and do not pay UK tax on theirprofits and avoid UK gambling tax which the UK government wants to change.
If we want the likes of Amazon etc to pay tax on their UK generated profits so should those companies registered in GiB. After all as we keep being told they are British !!!

Sad innit.
Same old worn out record.
Methinks much more to it than meets they eye, to carry a ridiculous obsession to such extremes.

That isn’t the point exactly. You imply that Gib encourages gambling. If these companies relocated back to the UK, would that stop gambling? The punters don’t know where the registered companies are when they gamble on or off line.
Whether morally right or wrong, registering a business in Gib is legal.

If you think that tax havens are bad then start a thread on Tax Havens or even a campaign against them.
Here is a clue to them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_haven you will note that at least five are British territories but Gibraltar is not amongst them.

If you think that online gambling is bad then start a thread on Online Gambling or even a campaign against it.
You may note that online gambling exists in many countries and originates within those countries including the UK as well as from outside.

However if your tirades are fueled by RACISM against Gibraltar then carry on as you are but at least be honest about your intentions.

Fred you still do not get.you maintain that GiB is British but will not accept that British companies registered in Gibraltar who make their profits in the UK are avoiding paying UK tax That is a two faced altitude. Any company who trades in the UK should pay UK tax. what is racist about that ,!!

Have you thought that opening phrase through? What is the max level that the consumer can stand? Assuming everyone is on a level income I suppose it would be easy enough to make an educated guess but since life is not as socially just as your sweeping statemnent implies, are you happy to see the playthings that people indulge in become the preserve of the rich?

Of course that would work, what could possibly go wrong?

Thank you for the confirmation that you are a RACIST

Any normal person wanting to make a statement about companies trading in the UK paying tax in the UK would not have singled out a specific country

So if we follow your odd reasoning the UK government is also racist as it too want companies registered off shore to pay their fair share of tax to the UK on their UK activities. I would also remind you that this is a thread on Gibraltar not Andorra or the Cayman Islands where HMG s also putting pressure on UK companies to pay tax to the UK.
