Extra frontier checks bring 75 minute wait for commuters
Delays at the frontier have seen commuters wait for up to 75 minutes to cross into Spain on Wednesday evening.
GBC understands Guardia Civil officers carried out extra searches on vehicles leaving Gibraltar and spent longer on each than they normally would.

Chief Minister meets with President of the Junta de Andalucia; Picardo describes meeting as "absolutely positive"
The Chief Minister has described a meeting with the President of the Junta de Andalucia, Susana Diaz, as very cordial and positive. Speaking to the press after the meeting, Junta Vice President, Manuel Jimenez Barrios, said an important dialogue had been opened.
It's the first time a Chief Minister of Gibraltar has met with a President of the Junta at the seat of the regional government, the Palacio de San Telmo in Seville. The hour-long meeting, which looked at future cooperation towards mitigating the possible effects of Brexit, was described by Fabian Picardo as "absolutely positive".

Special strain of bacteria to solve sewage problem
A special strain of saline bacteria will ensure that Gibraltar will finally treat its raw sewage as from 2020 following a six-year investigation into an ideal system.
Chief Minister Fabian Picardo said in a press conference yesterday that government personnel developed the highly-resilient salt water bacteria that can consume raw sewage within the new facility.

At 6pm the queue for cars was reported to be two hours and twenty minutes, with pedestrians and motorbikes also held up.

If you are a tourist coming in from Spain ,as I am,why would you need to come in by car?I have never actually,as a pedestrian,been held up at the frontier,indeed I am waiting to see if ONE TIME I will be asked to show my passport.But I have not been in Gib. for the last year so perhaps things have changed,will see when I am there later this year.
