c4+1 is on astra 2d and has been for a few months...(beginning of august when all the c4's moved around if i recall.)

the main c4 (104) is on 10714 H
the main c4+1 (135) is on 10720 V

Both of these frequencies are on Astra 2d

the first goes off at the same time as BBC2
the second will go off at the same time as bbc1

there are other c4's available on 12480 v, which are not free, which require a sky card, but these are IRISH versions of the channel, and are on Astra 2b (at the moment).

Is this the TT on 4? Yeah I can get that. So if FIVER goes onto Astra 2D in the future there is a good chance one of its variations (or +1) will be on the Vertical transponder for us sky card watchers hence having it all day?

Correcto.
if it goes onto a horizontal frequency on astra 2d then its viewing hours will be limited (a la bbc2)
if it goes onto a vertical frequency on astra 2d then its viewing hours will be similar to bbc1

Default Re: Free FIVE NOW available

The Good News : FIVE has joined Freesat....and is available without a Sky card....

The Bad news: It IS on the same frequency as BBC2 and so will have the same availability as BBC2.

And more bad news: There may also be certain programmes / movies / sports that will be blocked and not shown on this Free version of Five due to contractual reasons, as confirmed by the captions displayed during the past few weeks of testing during certain programmes.

At the moment, the Sky card version of FIVE is still there and easily available with an 80cm dish....for now.....

FIVE is still currently on the stronger signal for sky users on a 2.4mt and I can still get it all day.
When you say 105 FIVE is gonna to be going onto the same frequency as BBC2 then wouldnt it have happened by now or are they waiting to create space on the satellite?

Ie, is the freesat version on the bbc2 frequency yet(6335 version) or is the freesat version 'still' on the same frequency as 105 (stronger signal)?

Will 6335 replace 105 eventually??? (6335 being the weak signal right now)

Im confused.!!

infact you should be able to get Sky 105 FIVE on an 80cm dish!
you will struggle to get freesat 105 FIVE 24/7 on a 2.4m dish tho...

there is not space on the astra 2d satellite - hence why thay are sharing the BBC2 frequency. when space appears then i dare say five may bid for a full transponder / frequency....and then they may move all their channels onto it...theyhave at least 8 channels.: five has 4 regions used for different adverts, fiver, fiver+1, five us, five us+1).

no the freesat five is on the bbc2 frequency and was offically launch on freesat on tuesday. if you scan the BBC2 frequency 10773h 22 5/6 then you will see than "6335" is now "FIVE", as the 6335 was just the test channel id used before launch.

the sky FIVE is on astra 2c, on 10964 H

i think i have answered this above....we shall have to wait and see if / when space becomes available on astra 2d and if five go for it...

Thanks for the replies pcsatguy, you have been most helpful.

So hopefully sky viewers could still see FIVE on 105 all day still for weeks if not months before that version goes over to the BBC2 signal, or even longer than that?
