Don't worry about it sonny, I never take any of your posts seriously and as for "offend" the only thing they do is amuse

Not sure I'd want to be trusting my assets and finances over there.
DD are you saying that Spain doesn't have "widespread corruption and dodgier than average politicians!?

Ah yes - I see. In my defence, the stick had two ends...

I can see the logic in that, Our schools could have flight simulators to teach our kids how to bomb the enemy, and firing ranges to teach them how to shoot them. I can't think of a role for the naval staff, perhaps a dummy nuclear sub in the playground to teach them how to launch cruise missiles.

I'm pleased that you've missed out surgeons.

I've had a re-think on surgeons. But our old policemen could teach the kids how to taser people and the old CID staff could take the kids along to watch a post mortem.

And our old SIS people? They could lecture on Polonium and rendition.

My wife's father and uncle were fire officers, this is what really happened. They had second jobs, as did most of their colleagues, generally HGV driving, security, window cleaning, painting and decorating, to name but a few. They took early enhanced retirement packages on the back of the old pals act, meaning that by the law of averages one or more of the fire chiefs would have worked under them at some time.

They then drew their age 55 pensions when they were 50, topped them up with their second jobs and waited for their state pensions to click in. This is the public sector that we're discussing, these days their pensions are so good that they pass on doing any further work and retire to Spain aged 50 (after all they all have breathing problems and glass backs).
