That would put the marina in the right place but what that new bridge at the center of the graphic is who can guess. One possibility is that the viaduct on the access into Esuri is that bridge and the illusion that the body of water shown is the Guardiana and in fact it is the tributary which except in flood has no water in it. That would put the Guardiana somewhere off the bottom left of the graphic.

I can't see that the engineers/architects would have made such a fundamental error. If we could blow the plan up and find the North point that would be decisive putting the south to the right hand edge and the Marina in the right place.
I think you are exactly correct John - and so is the graphic. The area shown as river is currently marshland across which is the Esuri Bridge. It looks as if it is to be dredged - or maybe it will flood as soon as the river Guardiana bank is removed to provide water access to the Marina - providing a river inlet similar to the Ayamonte Marina. The Guardiana would be across the bottom of the graphic and seems to have been cropped off this pic.

The bridge is clearly marked Puente Internacional and the lefthand side is clearly marked Potugal

The Graphic is wrong or the marina is not to be in Esuri

The thing that is wrong with the graphic (this would not happen in any drawing office I have run) there is no North Point. It does not help that the architect has obviously not visited site since he has labelled the bridge wrongly and he cannot spell Portugal.

Now that might have been said in jest but you are spot on JDR. The approvals given were very specific that the new marina would ony be allowed ancillary uses alongside such as Chandler'y etc but the eagle eyed among Esurians will have spotted new housing development along the north bank of the Arroyo and alongside the road into Esuri. This kind of development Esuri needs like a hole in the head. We have plenty of available housing to buy and rent without building more.

Have a look at the picture in Post #66 alongside the graphic and you can clearly see where the Marina is intended to be. As John says the labels on the bridge and 'Portugal' are wrong - probably stuck on by a sub-editor in Huelva. The topography of the road and surrounds is exactly as it is today, you can even see the electricity sub-station outlined.

Mike I agree the intention is to build the marina in Esuri, but the original graphics are missleading and probably the imagination of some artist who does not know the area.

With reference to the graphics in post 66 does this mean the closure of the fish farm?

There are some photo simulations on the forum run by a local bike renter
These make it very clear

I not put a link as I didn't think it was allowed

No the detail of the application says that a rump of the Fish Farm will stay to the north of the Marina. The Fish Farm is extensive filling the whole of the area from the international bridge approach embankment to the high ground at the Sea and Sun development. There are some bits and pieces in there as well such as the electricity generating station and the small hill with the vodafone mast.

Iguess that on the graphic it is the area which at first seems to be the Guardiana but we now know to be the Arroya and the flooded marima.

A Youtube video of a presentation for Marina Esuri = some good mock ups filmed which give a good idea of what it will look like plus a breakdown of the key statistics. If you understand Spanish you will learn more.

PS: If the link doesn't work type Marina Esuri into You Tube

The marina is moving along slowly and has passed the first stages of approval. As we all know money or finance is the biggest problem and the estimated cost for the construction of the Marina is €43,705,156.75 for 1,184 berths of varying size of between six and 40 metres.
The pre-project presented will see the fish farm already present reduced in size by approx 55% but the farming to be intensified. The electrical substation will stay as the extra heat produced in production from this plant is used to increase the water temperature in the fish farm.
It's going to take time but at least it is all now moving in the right direction.
Happy New Year to you all
