I'm the ideal weight for a bloke of 6'4" - Problem is, I'm only 5' 7"!!!
Though I'm not that bothered about weight loss - following a recent medical at work, I'm now waiting for a fasting blood test at the Doc's as not too surprisingly my cholesterol is a little high.
So I may well be joining you ladies on a diet in a week or so - don't worry you can count on me for support.
Maybe we should all post naked pics of ourselves so we can monitor our success?Must dash, meeting some mates at the local Indian in 5 minutes!!

I'm in superb shape for a guy of 53.....5'11" and 13 stone.
And unlike most Brit men....I have hair and teeth!
It's my Welsh genetics you see!

Well I wasn't going to join this thread.
"My name is Crispygirl and I am voluptuous"
It doesn't help when you live to eat instead of eating to live.

Hi I'd like to join the diet thread. I've never had to diet before so I need all the help people can give. I was always a size 8/10 but in the year before I moved to Spain I put on nearly 2 stone. I haven't been able to find batteries for my scales (the flat rectangular ones) since I have been here so not sure what I weigh now ! I know I should do more exercise and that is my main problem and (of course) the vino! Any advice much appreciated

Throw the scales away.............
Do you know I have put so much weight on since I bought mine, for years I felt content with my build and not knowing my weight then last year I bought scales and thought godness I am so over weight since then I have just excelled in even more weight gain.:curse:

OK girls and boys of various shapes and sizes...........................has anyone done anything remotely positive towards improving their lot, since this thread started!!??
I've got as far as moving the new exercise mat upstairs, and thinking how pretty and new it looks!!
I managed to eat fairly well yesterday - sort of!
I didn't have any tea, anyway!
I'm sure someone has been more proactive than me!
Come on peeps; let's share some inspiration before we all end up hibernating for the winter!

Well done Sam, congrats on your positive mat moving it must have take great will power and I applaud you for your sterling effort
As for me well I have been very good for the last three weeks, I have had three well balanced meals a day, ie. fruit and yogurt for breaky, lunch time (main meal) streamed fish, or grilled meat, with plenty of veg, rice, or couscous, evening meal something simple such as jacket potato or some crackers and fruit or maybe a salad
. If I have eaten between meals it has been fruit or dried fruit. I can proudly announce that I have..........put on 3lbs;
this is of course on top of the 14lbs I have somehow managed to inherit from a kindly well wisher in the last 12 months.
It must be true what they say you must cut our alcohol and exercise everyday, something that seems a very alien concept to me.Mal on the other hand has lost enough weight to make a likkle Malcolm, lucky me I get two for the price of one.

You absolutely crack me up, Crispy!
How depressing that you've eaten so well recently - and yet have managed to gain weight!?
Now that would be enough to drive me straight back to the biscuit tin!!
What on earth are you doing to poor Malcolm,to make him lose weight??
I hope you're not wearing him out with your "demands!"
I'm thinking that tomorrow I might just venture as far as undoing my new exercise mat..................and admiring it from a distance
Off to take the dog out for a walk now, so will say night night, take care and happy dieting!!
PS Why didn't Crispy's quoted message come out in a nice neat little box?? I'm sure I did what I always do.....................??

Bin the mat - but when you take the dog out for it's walk, do at least an hour and walk at a pace which makes you slightly breathless - If you did this twice a day you could almost eat what you want and still lose weight.

As for walking the dog at a faster pace...............I'm afraid she's in her later years now, and just wouldn't be able to manage, bless her heart!
As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm planning to do a few "power walks" (on my own) but at the moment I'm still at the planning stage!!

I'm going to give the mat a try, because I'm sure a few (thousand!) sit-ups will help to tone my expanding midriff. I've always had a flat stomach, but now I'm over 40, it seems to be spreading at an alarming rate!!

I shall also be getting plenty of exercise tomorrow, when I'll be watching the Everton (pah!) v Liverpool match!!
Lots of jumping up and down, and raising of arms!

How are your exercise/diet plans going then, LB?
