You may have knowledge that others here do not, but a toll on the bridge would not be accepted by either government. The loss in revenue they would suffer would never justify the toll. What might and could happen is putting a toll section further down the Algarve motorway before hitting Faro or the Lisbon junction, but that way there is a choice. The fundamental principals in both Portugal and Spain is that if you put a toll road there has to be a viable, free alternative - how will that happen at the bridge?

Still, what do I know? I only live here.

JUST MENTION ANYTHING TO DO WITH MONEY AND MR FARTALEZA `WILL APPEAR:rofl: THE FREE ALTERNATIVE IS THE NEW BRIDGE AT POMARAO, THERE HAD TO BE A REASON FOR BUILDING IT...WHAT LOSS OF REVENUE, THE BRIDGE HAS NOT BEEN WORKED ON FOR OVER TWO YEARS THATS SINCE THE TWO PAINTERS FELL, IT WAS RUBBED DOWN AND UNDERCOATED BUT NEVER TOPCOATED..THE LIGHTS ON THE SPANISH SIDE HAVE NOT WORKED FOR ALLMOST 3 YEARS. THE MONEY NEEDED HAS TO COME FROM SOMWHERE

Don't you just hate those people who delight in saying 'I told you so' ??? :sneaky:

Stilll,as I said in an earlier post - and there were those who thought I was stirring or joking - there are people around who have no problems with mortgages who are more than happy to take Esuri properties off your hands. It won't be the money you are necessarily looking for but it will be something.

I was being facetious. The irony of a Socialist party cutting down on waste collection, leaving it to rot in the street, and putting people out of work.

And I'm talking at council level - and as you may have worked out by now around here, the Socialists in town often have very few active policies in common with the national government. If I remember correctly, Aljaraque changed red in 2007 too, no?

There was a very expensive poilcy by the PSOE in Andalucia (and Im sure elsewhere too) to target specific seats and forget other ones. They poured so much money into our area for example, nobody else stood a chance. But hey - that's the way it works, no complaints there. Since then what they have done is continued now for 20 months on a 'honeymoon' policy period - crowd winning schemes that hide the fact that nothing is getting done. A few grumbles about no business stimulus? Throw more money at the Carnaval that'll keep 'em 'appy!

Anyway, WAAAAYYYYY off topic now.

Anyone want to sell their Esuri property for €50,000 before the repo men come in??

JOHN, EVEN AT 50,000 YOU WOULD HATE IT IN ESURIE, THERE IS NOT A SHEEP IN SIGHT,ONLY HORSES AND PONYS, (AND YOUR NOT TALL ENOUGH FOR THEM ?):frown:

Matt, remember you have to make allowances for them. Remember, they thought Esuri was a sound investment. What hope have you got in them finding the Caps Lock button?????
