Thats our starting point too but we take the train (free with Tesco vouchers).

I have adopted classic army convoy drills for the route and we will be pulling a trailer so are limited to 60mph. 2hrs driving 10min break 2hrs driving 10min break then 2hrs driving 1/2hr break.

We start from MK so we get a forced 1/2hr break before the train at 09.05 we will land 10.40 continental time and are aiming for Poitiers for our first overnight. At Futurescope there are dozens of hotels in all price ranges we have chosen Campanile a mid price and alongside the motorway and should be there via Rouen and Le Mans our break points by about 18.00. The A10 is high quality motorway almost all the way so it is easy driving but costs. 2nd day follows the same routine and we are heading for Burgos in Spain for our second overnight via the A10 to Bordeaux and the A10/E70/E5 to Burgos where we stay at the Cuidad Burgos which is right by a motorway junction. Final leg to Ayamonte is via Valladolid/Salamanca/Casceres and Sevilla. Again vitually motorway all the way but not tolled this time.

Our SatNav which is new and has been updated does not show all the motorways as complete but they are except for a bit around Casceres. Via Michelin also has this problem and both try to send you via Paris and Madrid but I avoid them.

On reading your note I went back to the historic rates website and found that for my last reset (6th Sept), if I looked at the 12 month rate on 7th July, it ties up to exactly (inc my 1.1% add on) to the rate I'm currently paying. This means at my next fix, 5th March they will take 5th Jan rate so I'll still be paying around 2.3% less than now.
I've sent a note to Caja asking them to confirm their rate fixing criteria and will advise if their response differs to the above.

We should be resident at CE on the 3rd or 4th Feb.

Heres a conundrum, we will not have a washing machine to start.

We always used to be able to find Launderettes or self service Washerterias in all the resorts we have stayed in in the past.

We have not seen one in Ayamonte, Isla Canela, Isla Cristina,VRStO or Monte Gordo.

Does anyone know if there is such a beast in our area I guess Monte Gordo would be favorite for all the campsites but have not seen one.

Any info would be most welcome.

just be careful about how much you expect the rate to drop on my mortgage with solbank i am 0.7% above the euribor but the lowest my rate can fall to is 3.8% and the highest god forbid is 12% i would expect that if you read your contract they will all be similar

Hi John, I have seen a launderette in the indoor shopping centre, near Mercadona on the left hand side as you enter the shops, I guess it's still there but couldn't be certain, don't think it was self service.

The laundrette Tricia is referring to closed down some months ago. There´s one next to the pet shop (Zoopet) on the Avda de Andalucia.

talking about driving.I got stopped on the M25 with 15 imagrants in the trailer.

nice to know a few more expats will been seen in Ayamonte. Hope the move goes well.

As to laundrette, haven't seen self service. There is a launderette up the top of the street Cristobel Colon heading towards the bullring. The lady is very nice and understands a few english words, but I try my basic spanish phrases for days and times etc.

We had our machine delivered and fitted the same day of purchase, so not too much laundry pile up.
