Under cover of daylight I managed to evade the security guards and sentry posts at the commercial centre to bring to you the inside views and state of malls and walkways.

and a couple more of the centre. Naturally I was wearing a high visibility jacket, hard hat and steel toe capped shoes for the occasion in case somebody challenged me on health & safety grounds.

Hi All,

I am sitting in the square in V R St O writing to you on the free Wi Fi toconnection. The trip down was fantastic everything went really well evan the gods were kind and the bay of Biscay was like a mill pond for 48 hrs. There were whales and dolphins to be seen.

From Bilbao to Brozas took exactly the 6.5 hrs predicted by Via Michelin and the converted convent we stayed in overnight was fantastic and the food was really top quality.

The real reason for driving on this trip was to bring down the oak flooring for the lounge in the villa all 40 sq m. This was about 1 cu m of wood and felt like it weighed a tonne. So road surface quality was very important and it was brilliant for 98% of the journey. We did not try the back roads from Brozas to Ayamonte as first planned to stay on the motorway all the way via Sevilla and that took 3.5 hrs driving.

The weather is very mixed at the moment but warm enough for shorts and a tee shirt if you have just come from UK but the natives are still in winter woolies. I will test out the clubhouse wi fi as well and update you on the progress on CE but so far everything looks really good.

Regards,

John.

John,
Glad the trip went without a hitch. Carol and I were thinking of you with all that flooring on board and wondering whether all had gone to plan. Bet you couldn't believe your luck with the calm crossing.

It was very good of all the builders to move out of shot so they didn't get in the way for you pics.

Hi Andy,
Yes Kath was really thankful that her longest sailing in 60 ish years was on a very big boat and was dead calm. Am on the clubhouse wifi this morning but noticed yesterday it is also available and free in the old market hall in Tavera and the large shopping centre in Faro. The pictures of the site are great and very accurate Graham thanks. Progress is still being made on the shop in the local centre but I doubt it will be open in four weeks but should be therev by summer. Weather here is great this morning and not too hot for a new arrival, Esuri is looking very good and my beams have arrived in Algiceras from Russia so everything is right with the world.

Regards,

John.
