Ayamonte is the Ayuntamiento and has a municipal population of 22,000 in a fairly compact area with all the year round Spanish activities that go on in a small Spanish town. It has been said that it is not too sophisticated and for culture you have to visit Huelva or Sevilla.

Either side of the centre about 5 km due north and south are two urbanisations to the North is a golf resort Costa Esuri which will have a potential population in peak season of 18000 and to the south is the beach and marina resort with a furhter golf course of Isla Canela again a peak population of 18000.

There is also a large chunk of Campo within the municipal boundary and about 1 km by ferry and you are in Portugal.

Come and see us you might just like the town!

I don't want to "sell" it is just fine as it is and if too many come it will spoil it for us who made the commitment to what it is now.

Ray

I'm a city dweller and had a pleasant and unexpected surprise when we completed recently. Something that I hadnt expected, and for me turned out to be very positive indeed.

You wouldnt go and drop everything and go and live there based on this only, but this would go into the advantages column for me - for living in CE.

The air is so fresh!! Theres no real industry for miles around - and what there is is not environmentally 'smelly'! With loads of Orange farms, natural parks, yes - golf courses too... etc.

I never thought I was the kind of bloke that would deliberately go out with a glass, and the lights off and just smell the air! But I did several times.... (best in the evening). Its fresh and there are hints of orange and pine as well.

I guess living in the city makes this kind of thing noticeable for me and I have to say very pleasant indeed!

Regards
Jon

The house I live in now I regard as the glue that holds the family together not a member but a very special place. I think Ce may become the next place on our journey.

What I find Jon is the quality of the light it is different thats why I suppose it is a magnet for artists and has been for a very long time you are right the air is so clear and the colours so true it is different.

Portugal has never really interested me.

But CE is starting to.
