We wanted a rescue dog ideally so yes, I think it'll be worth waiting a while to see how things pan out.
Tick all the boxes there but the wallet one is somewhat of a "work in progress"

As long as you go into it with your eyes open, your wallet relatively full and everyone including the little ones looking forward to the adventure then why not.
