What's unofficial about it?

I actually havent seen an English cricket match sice I've been in Spain. Given that I dont have UK TV, but I do follow the text commentary and use the free online streaming for the odd half an hour. Great to see them doing well though

Can't afford it? Or maybe you think Spanish TV is better?

Why do you say that? Not everyone wants UK TV.

Most the good stuff gets to Spain at some point anyway

We watched the Borgia series this spring on Spanish TV, I believe it has only just come out on UK TV. And over breakfast this summer have been watching Top Gear. It is from 2003 through

I tend to buy DVD´s so that we can watch exactly the type of things that we enjoy when we want to so are not governed by TV at all.

Yeh, but the diamonds seem to be getting fewer and far between as the seam runs out.
Not sure how many times some Sky progs are repeated but I would guess at many hundreds at least with some possibly running into thousands.

On top of that is the ever increasing time wasted on ads, now something in the region of twenty minutes in the hour.
At one time I barely had time to make a cup of coffee, now there's about enough time to take the dog for a walk or run of a few posts on BE, by which time I've either forgotten what I was watching or else completely lost interest.

On a side note I see more evidence has just come to light, allegedly proving the Murdochs were telling porkies,...surprise,surprise.

The Murdochs telling...'gasp'..lies? Can such things be.

Don't get me started on adverts. There are some I watch with genuine pleasure, but there are so many, and so many of them are obviously aimed at morons.... I love the mascara ad that has at the bottom 'filmed as used on lash inserts, enhanced post production.'

Or after translation, "what you were shown was bullshit. Even after we had packed the model's eyes with false lashes to the extent that in order to open her eyes she had to lean back, the effect still was so lacklustre that we had to fake it some more with special effects."

It'll sell tho as there are an awful lot of morons out there, who are presumably illiterate as well.

There's shows on there that I wouldn't want to own, but would like to see once. The Bettany Hughes series on ancient Crete, the Moors in Spain and so on were simply breathtaking stuff. Benidorm, if you want a good laugh, I like pointless, it's a clever take on the general knowledge game show, Miguel Portillo on railways, never thought I'd be interested in that, yeah, there still are a few really good things to watch.

Best yet, I'm not paying the UK TV tax.

It amazes me that anyone watches or takes in any of the ads at all, but I suppose some must or the companies wouldn't waste a fortune on them.
Off the top of my head I honestly could not describe even in vague detail one single ad.

I either get up and do something useful, or switch to beeb, or hit the mute button,(what a fabulous invention), close my eyes, switch my mind off and relax.

I even use the mute button on footie matches now so I don't have to listen to the moronic chanting or pain in the ass commentator who doesn't know a football from a coconut.
Instead I relax and enjoy watching the game whilst listening to some pleasant music on the stereo at the same time.
