We were originally going to move to Murcia, or just outside it, but a close friend of ours has a friend who summers in Cuidad Quesada and they recommended it to us.
My wife did most of the research on this and seems happy with it. She hopes to get across late spring 2014 to have a look around the area.

I understand your frustration, please don't take it personally. There are many people on here with enormous experience of living in Spain and watching countless others try the same. My view is that they are playing devils advocate. Don't give up on us. The only thing I would suggest which you've heard before is if possible, keep/rent out your UK property for 12 months and rent in Spain. Rents in Spain are considerably lower than the UK.
Whatever you choose, Buena suerte

Since posting that people are responding more positively with helpful suggestions and do`s don`ts.

We did consider renting out house but after all things considered have opted to sell. If we need to come back to the UK we would not be coming back to the area we left as it has slowly went downhill

I do not intend to give up on the forum and I am not shy at coming forward

Get out in Late Spring and enjoy the whole of the summer, you only live once !

If you drive towards towards Torrevieja from Quesda and turn left at the second roundabout you will be on the Lemon Tree Road. The next roundabout, the big new one is at Lo Marabu. Once you turn left into the urbanisation you've got the Laguna hotel on your right.
Some of the large urbanisation is unfinished, but you can meander to your left over various roundabouts and you get to Dona Pepa, where Lidls and Consum are and you're back on the first roundabout south of Quesada.
The part of this urbanisation leading right into Quesada at the arches is also unfinished, but you can still drive there if you go over a couple of kerbs at the end.
Quesada itself is more convenient than some of the unfinished urbanisations around it, once they are all finished the whole area will be joined with Rojales, from where it is governed.

Thanks HBG.
I had a mental block, there are so many developments I often get confused - especially after the third Mojito by the pool at La Laguna. Of course I know where you mean. There are lots of yellow houses.

Hiya
I think it did not help that I cant spell the name of the development we are moving too correctly.

Yeah, with so many urbanisations having similar names it is easy to get confused. It was many months before I could confidently find my way around Quesada.
I like to explore all the little towns and villages.

I was tempted when giving directions to say 'Turn left at the roundabout with the black girl in a bikini, then after you pass the blonde girl in the lay-by on your left in hot pants, take the next left.'
'You want the supermarket with the accordion player outside.' 'It's the bar with all the cats outside.'

Best be careful Andy, comparisons to UK are not permitted by the forum trolls.
Quite a few years back the police tried to crack down on these girls and they protested by gathering on mass at Torre round a bout and bearing their boobs.
It doesn't really bother me and I feel sorry for those girls who are forced into prostitution. To be effective we need to target those higher up the food chain, the organised criminals behind the crime.
Worse things in Thailand does not seem to hurt their tourist trade > http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...-Thailand.html
