Changing language in computer.
#16
We bought new PCs last year from UPI. The shops are run on a franchise basis. But we managed to purchase English XP. We will never ever go down the route of Vista, as there are too many problems with it. Do a web search to find out more.
But of the two old PCs we made one good one for the guests. We are using Linux. This system is new to us but we like it. We have three different logons, one for us, One for Spanish guests and one for English guest. So one operating system can handle different languages. Added bonus it is not windows carp.
One other thing; There are a few “wines†that allow Windows programmes work in Linux.

I bought an Asus laptop from PC City in Spain (for 800 Euros or so) about a month ago, and it came preinstalled with the multilanguage version of Vista. When I first turned it on I was aked to choose which language I wanted, so I chose English that was it, English Vista.
They've got a 14 day money back guarantee, so you could buy one to check, and take it back if English is not available.

For those of you with Vista or are considering purchasing a PC with Vista. Maybe this is another reason not too.

But MS says you should contact your programme supplier!

When he first started all the programs were cleaned up and reduced as much as poss.
Then he found out he could make more money if he got involved with huge discs and memory etc and didn`t even have to clean the debris out the software either.

although I have also got Windows XP and Vista on my Mac 'for 2 small apps that are not available on Mac
' I only use * XP * on these few occasions when I need to access those programs, it's faster than Vista, more compatible with other programs than Vista and less of a pain in the ass than Vista, just haven't got round to removing it yet.

Well, if that's the case I think they have gone and shot themselves in the foot with these tactics and Vista then, I don't think I know anyone who is impressed by it in any way. In saying that... I am a Mac man

I have often asked myself the same question.... less machines manufactured, design of the cases and unit specific parts in low numbers, Apple policy, god knows... There used to be a company that made Mac clones some years ago, they where a little cheaper but then Apple took away the licensing rights from them. I have had 8 Macs in the 10 years since learning how to switch a computer on and would give up using computers if I had to do general computer work on a PC. Some of those 8 I have sold on and others sit in the office (attachment !
) only one of those 8 no longer works.
Each to their own I guess
