90 days in 180 is just for tourism as I think you know, if you want to work you need to apply for a working visa...

they do half a season and others come to fill the vacancy...

In France it is called "autorisation de travail" and only valid for your visa limit....
I am sure Spain has the same - think agricultural workers...

There’s been plenty of bar closures in recent years in Ibiza. Some parts are looking like ghost towns. I seen a video of all the closed down bars the other day.

I presume it's this to which you're referring : French senate backs ‘automatic visa’ right for UK second-home owners

I do hope you're not suggesing that French lawmakers shouldn't have sovereignty over what national rules they elect to apply to non-EU nationals

Non-EU nationals is the key here, everyone - US, Canadian, even Russians; not just people from an island in the north sea...

I do hope you're not suggesting that French lawmakers give special rights to only brit second home owners...

If the way Spain and the UK handled the recent driving licence exchange process, I wouldnt have much confidence in a home owner visa being on the table any time soon.

Why not, if that's what they decide they want to do?

Who do you think you can take it up with if they do, and you object?

Assuming hypothetically, for a moment, the highly improbable scenario that you could just approach that court directly on the matter, which provision of the EU Treaties would you cite as having been breached, and how would you demonstrate that it had adversely affected you directly and individually?

You could leave out anything personal.

Start with the treaty provision.

I wouldn't get too excited about this. It would appear to be the workings of a British pressure group who have managed to cobble together some support in the French senate but the real difficulty they face is getting it through the far more powerful national assembly that is heavily influenced by the president of the day.

Next up it has to pass the Schengen sniff test which will be extremely difficult. France is quite at liberty to devise a new visa whereby third country holiday home owners can apply for a certain type of visa but they (and Spain) can't start waiving Schengen rules because they feel like it.

The bloke who heads up the French pressure group should have been shouting much louder before that dreadful withdrawal agreement was ratified. He's making an awful of assumptions and someone should tell him that votes have consequences.

This proposal by one French politician has met with defeat.

French plan to ease second-home visits rejected: but may return (connexionfrance.com)
