I think that he is demonstrably mentally ill. No trial needed, put him into a place where he will never emerge, and deny him trial, glory and the publicity that he craves. I would also erase every trace of his name from the events.

One either believes in the law or one does not. It starts with the above but ends with gas chambers or Guantanamo bay. Because you disagree with someone it is no reason to withhold their rights, the important thing is that the law ensures true fairness.
I have just finished a discussion with a man whose father fought against fascism in WW2. He could not see the correlation between that and the edl and bnp and followed on with a rant about what should be done with the minorities in the UK.

I believe in the law. I don't propose killing him. I just belive that a part of these people's mentality is the glory, and one should one's utmost to deprive them of it.

I also believe that putting the mentally ill thru a trial is of little benefit if that person can never be released, and it is known 100% that he did it.

I totally agree with you in theory but in practice it would be save a million on this trial, save a million on that trial and you are already heading down that road.
I have no faith at all with the UK government, they were quite happy to go along with Guantanamo Bay something that I never thought our government would patronise and that, in my opinion, puts them on the same level as the so called baddies.

Well I would end his days & in some rare cases there should be capital punishment (IMO)

He planned and carried out these killings.
He admits that was his intention.
He in now content to spend his days in jail.

Should a mad dog have attacked & seriously injured some people (let alone killed them) it would be put down without a seconds thought, but because he is human (one of us) we apply a different set of rules.
Why ?, well because history tells us that mistakes are to often made in the courts, but should the reporting be accurate then I for one cannot see how a mistake can be made when due process has been carried out.

One case that always stuck in my mind was the death of Leonie Ketting (sic) where the piece of filth who was convicted of her rape then threw her face down into a ditch tied up where she was sure to die, in court it was established that that was his intent.
Without a shadow of a doubt they had the right person, he admitted it, that being the case he should have seen the rope !

whilst it is very noble to suggest that he should be incarcerated without trial surely that goes against everything else you stand for. Because someone isn't of sound mind (but sound enough to want to be paraded in front of the world) doesn't mean the law shouldn't be implemented. Perhaps there is a sounder reason for not taking to trial a murderer who is known to only have 6 months to live.

So.....trial in camera, with all the relatives present with just an announcement to the press at the end.
More importantly, a proper trial should be held because this is the only way the relatives will end up starting the route to closure.

I would hope that they will not allow the travesty of the Millie Dowler trial where the barrister\qc acting for Bellfield did what he was supposed to do (defending his client) but to the extent of grinding the girl's parents into the ground.
But then he will not be tried under the good old English Legal Swindle.

You are correct, I had not read about his death anywhere and my heart goes out to his family. Remember all that counts in the western world now is celeb status, it is not the fault of government but people themselves so yes a reality check is in order but I am afraid that it is not going to happen and we are going to see this many more times in the future. I believe that they are taking the returning bodies via the back streets now, it makes me so angry.
