Rarely stick my toe into "next-door's" views, but as I posted elsewhere the time may have come for the UK to dissolve into constituent parts and each to go their separate ways.

For too long the Brexit debate has divided friends and even families... Sometimes it appears irreparably (as we know from e.g a mutual friends experience). You and I have managed to stay friends, even though we are on opposite sides of this.

But I fully agree with you that this is b**ls up. Maybe its THE 'thing' (the common ground) that will finally and ironically, mend bridges and bring opposite sides together
