This kind of treatment to please the Mail and Express peanut gallery is only going to backfire on Brits visiting or living in the EU. |
Re: Border Control
Seems almost inevitable that tourist visas are going to have to be issued. How else is it going to work?

I seen Spanish police escorting British citizens to their luggage and then putting them back on the flight they came from. Anyone traveling anywhere in this state of emergency should know there is a good chance of getting refused entry.

They get sent back on the next flight, they don't get put in a holding centre for days. And that was due to Covid restrictions, not for visiting to do something which is legal.

yes they are on top this time round. Mind you my flight was full of people with Pakistani and Indians passports. They must have been going through Spain to get back to the UK. A lot had multiple suitcases so I’m guessing they were escaping the crisis in India. I don’t know how they get into Spain to travel to the uk but the plane was full on the way back. Border control had plenty of officers on in Manchester airport both at the desks and the luggage , but I didn’t see anyone getting refused entry while I was there at least.

Probably they were British citizens.
Unless our friend is mistaken, of course. Maybe he meant something other than "passports" |

How could you know if they were being refused as you said they had Indian Passports and therefore would be checked in a different area from you. If they were standing with you and were let through they would be UK nationals no?
