Another point:- The Spanish Ministry for the interior has dismantled the biometric readers that it installed at the frontier in 2015

Would this be due to Spain considering that Gibraltar is now in the Schengen area?

Gibraltar is not in the Schengen area and personally I doubt it will be in the near future.

But we will have to have patience and wait and see

So Gibraltar and Northern Ireland have acquired a new kind of citizen status under this Brexit.

We have British citizens travelling to British territories being required to produce passports to enter...

Then we have other within the United Kingdom who have issues with importing exporting good...

Proper Brexit botch, if you ask me....

Well done Boris...

And Priti Patel now wants to send asylum seekers to Gibraltar and the Isle of Man, amongst other places, to processing centres whilst their claims are being dealt with. Except that both Gibraltar and the IOM have said they know nothing of such plans and will not have anything to do with them.

I have read somewhere that as a 10yr TIE holder that I can join my Irish wife in the EU queue with my TIE and UK passport. I suspect that my TIE will also allow me to use the machine readers where there is a slot for ID CARDS.

My child has a EU passport I dont. He will be separated from me at passport control so not sure why you should get a free pass if a 16 old doesn't

I thought an ABC gate needed the passport or card to have a chip, something the TIE doesn't have.

Edit: I've just realised it has the chip symbol on it so I guess it's embedded inside it.
