Boarding Pass with Easyjet?

Just have a couple of questions about the Easyjet reserved seats. I've booked Speedy Boarding and a seat near the front of the plane - do the cabin crew make any effort to make sure the front compartments are used only for people with seats in that area? One of my pet hates in flying with other airlines (Aer Lingus are especially bad) is that people board, stick their suitcase at the front, hogging all the overhead bins and then proceed to their seats at the back, leaving the people sitting at the front with no space at all. I'll be rushing off the plane and need to get out of the airport as quickly as possible, so no way I want to check my bag into the hold and having paid for boarding and a reserved seat, I'd be very annoyed if I had to....
Also, I keep getting told I need to add ID information (advanced passenger info) to my booking. I did that at the beginning and just logged on to check and it's all there. Why do Easyjet keep e-mailing me to tell me to do it? Do they e-mail everyone as a matter of course or should I worry that the website hasn't registered my information?

In my experience most people who pay for speedy boarding want to sit at the front and get first use of the locker space. So if you have payed for speedy boarding you will be the first to stow your hand luggage. In fact I am an exception to this as I pay for speedy boarding(easyjet plus) but prefer to sit at the back of the plane. I just hate the 1/2 hour + stood in a queue so pay the extra. The new seat allocation system works against me as speeding boarding is automatically given to those who pay £7 to sit at the front. I don't know if they plan to continue the easy jet plus scheme.
As for the ID question you won't be able to print your boarding cards without the relevant information having been given. If you can print the boarding cards then you can ignore the email.

Pre allocated seat booking should bring to an end all those couples that take up the window seat and the aisle seat placing their belongings on the middle seat and a head in a book whilst others are boarding in the hope nobody notices trying to get away with having three seats for the price of two.

PS if I am forced to pay £3 for a seat then I would book one window and one aisle seat.

The daily telegraph well open in the aisle seat is much better than a book though I would never put anything on the seat I have not paid for until after take off. Anyone who asks politely is welcome to the window seat for the better view.

its the good grace they don't display when I say I have to have an aisle seat due to not being able to straighten my right leg that annoys me.

That's a point.....I have bad circulation in my right leg and have had DVT on more than one occasion, I really do need an aisle seat so that I can have some movement.....is it possible to book an aisle seat now or not?

Megmet...Yes you can(if available), we booked our Xmas flights a few months ago, out on EasyJet and back on Jet2 as it worked out cheaper that way. We booked before Easyjet allocated seating and just got the Speedyboarding, once they changed their system we recieved an email saying we could book our seats, you see a diagram of the planes seating plan and just click on the seat you wish to select. I have bad knees and my wife has a bad back so we prefer the extra room and so selected 2 seats at the front, the drawback with that is the first locker is often used by aircrew for various stuff(certainly on Jet2) so that means your hand luggage is in lockers behind your seat and therefore almost impossible to get to them on landing before the ensuing stampede barges past. I find it so much better to stay seated, relax, let everyone off the aircraft then casually get my hand luggage and stroll to the baggage reclaim, by which time the hold luggage is generally on the luggage belt.

I realise this is a bit off topic, but... maybe someone can help.
I had Ryanair tickets. But had to come back before due to an emergency. I tried to change the tickets, but it cost more than buying new ones.
It means I have valid tickets at the moment that I wont use. Will Ryanair refund the airport taxes that I don't use (and they pay to the airports for my usage) ??
Knowing Ryanair, I think I can guess the answer - but was wondering if legally they can take a tax for something not used.
Thanks
Jon
